If not a Truck, Maybe a Bike Trailer

Last week Wade responded to the comment he frequently hears when he appears somewhere to carry an item “You need a truck”. Wade says he can get it all done with hid Elantra. I want to take this a step further. Whereas others may say “You need a Truck” I say you can do it with a bike. - not everything, but a bike can be used for much more than just biking.

You Need a Truck!

I picked up a used fridge, stove, microwave, range and dishwasher in Winnipeg this week (don’t worry, my trusty 1970’s range is still cookin’ in the kitchen). When the people selling the appliances saw me pulling a trailer with my 2005 Hyundai Elantra hatchback, their reaction was typical: “You need a truck.”

The Air Canada Bailout

As I write, it has just been announced that the federal government will bail out Air Canada to the tune of $5.9 billion. That is the beginning, because having bailed out the largest air carrier, bailout will also need to flow to the smaller carriers. It seems to me that implicit in this bailout, which includes a commitment to purchase new, additional aircraft, is the assumption that the world economy and world priorities will return to that of pre-pandemic days soon
