Simplicity in Steinbach

Attendees of Saturday's presentation by Mark Burch were treated to an articulate, authoritative perspective on voluntary simplicity in Canada. Mr. Burch drew on his own experience to direct a group discussion that shed a new light on what many of us thought we knew quite well - that simplicity (or sufficiency) is an exciting solution to the negative effects of our material culture. After a full-day workshop (only enough for a panning overview of the topic), the group was left with a renewed sense of necessity, promise, and of community. Many thanks to Mr. Burch for bringing such an accessible, informed message to our small Steinbach area.

If you couldn't make it out to the event, be sure to read any of his 5 books which explore the topic in deeper detail (including Stepping Lightly: Simplicity for People and the Planet and The Hidden Door)

If the opportunity comes again, don't miss a chance to hear him speak!
