Stew & Stories - Saturday October 17

SETI will be hosting an evening of Stew & Stories on Saturday October 17th. We'll be cooking it all up in a giant pot over the fire and serving it at Jack Heppner's "Edgework Place".  Your only admission is an ingredient for the pot (and maybe a couple dollars for the hat). Bring a story about what you've done or tried in your life to transition to sustainability. Dress warm (there'll be a fireplace & shelter too), and bring your preferred beverage. The gathering begins at 4:00pm and ends around 8:00pm. We look forward to seeing you!

Location: Edgework Place 40049 Road 33N, RM of La Broquerie  (Map)

From the water tower at the south end of Steinbach, go East on Hwy 52 for five miles, turn right (South) on Carriere Rd (40E) and proceed for two miles, turn left on Rd 33N and proceed for 1/3 mile, turn left again at 40049 at Edgework Place. Signs will be posted.

Cost: Bring something for the pot

Other Details:

Bring jars/containers to take home leftover stew

Vegan option available (oven-roasted vegies)

BYO drinks; hot coffee will be available

Bowls, mugs & spoons provided

SETI's 2015 Annual General Meeting - Sept 30

South Eastman Transition Initiative will be hosting its 6th Annual General Meeting at the Jake Epp Library in Steinbach. Members, occasional visitors and curious public are all welcome to attend. SETI's activity in 2015 will be reviewed, and ideas will be brought forward for new initiatives in 2016 & beyond.  Your participation & suggestions are eagerly anticipated!

Fruit Share Fall Jam

Fruit Share Steinbach:

In case you haven't heard of Fruit Share Steinbach before, they are a non-profit organization that rescues unwanted local produce and then shares it in the community. They are having a fall celebration and it is going to be a blast. You don't want to miss this music fest.

 

Fruit Share Fall Jam! Saturday September 26th, 6:30-9:30pm. All are invited to celebrate our bountiful Fruit Share harvest, with delicious desserts, hot beverages, and toe-tapping music all in front of a cozy stone fireplace. Special musical guests: Hay Fever, Heinrichs Maneuver, and Alexandra Ross. Location: Edgework Place, 40049 Rd 33N, La Broquerie (2 miles south off Hwy 52 on Carriere Rd 40E).
